Popa chubby plays jimi

Description:You'd have to be a die-hard Popa Chubby fan to want to hear these well-intentioned tributes instead of the originals at home. Such is the hazard of recording live shows; what might have been a crowd pleasing night of guitar shenanigans simply sounds overlong and exhausting removed from the visuals and energy-enhanced atmosphere of a rock club. While this is surely better than your average garage band thumping out a set of Hendrix classics at a local dive, it loses much in the translation to disc. Strangely, "Third Stone from the Sun," which ran six minutes when Hendrix unleashed it on his debut, is trimmed to three-and-a-half here, and worse, it frustratingly fades out as the band is really turning up the heat.
